Martavis Bryant's 2017 season included reportedly requesting a trade, publicly acknowledging frustration over his role in the offense and even being deactivated for a game for improper conduct on social media.
But now that it's ended, the third-year wide receiver is already looking forward to returning to the Steelers next season.
"Of course," Bryant said today. "I mean, they stuck with me through my whole process.
"I had a great year this year. It wasn't the best, we didn't play the best, but it got better each game. Hope to build onto it next year."
Bryant had two catches for 78 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown reception, in Sunday's 45-42 playoff loss to Jacksonville.
He finished the regular season with 50 catches for 603 yards and three TDs, and also carried the ball six times for 22 yards after being reinstated from an NFL-imposed suspension that cost him the 2016 season.
Bryant had 50 catches for 765 yards and six touchdowns in 2015.
"Just bring another trophy here, I just want to win," Bryant continued, regarding next season's expectations. "I love the guys here, love the coaches. I don't feel like starting that chemistry all over again when you go to a new team."
As for his role in the offense, "I don't have any control over that," Bryant said. "All I can do is get better this offseason, come back in OTAs and show them that I deserve more, or whatever, and just go from there.
"It's a long offseason, gotta lotta work to do. The work will be done and I'll be better next year."
